Doja Cat is back on Twitter, and she’s revealing that she’s had tonsil surgery! She’s letting her fans know that she’s been in the hospital for the past few days and is now recovering. She shared photos of herself laying in bed and hooked up to an IV. She also shared a video of herself trying to rap a Nicki Minaj verse on “Bottoms Up,” but her voice sounds rough and weak from swelling.
Doja has previously defended her decision to have tonsil surgery, explaining that it’s because she was having trouble coping with a large abscess on her left tonsil. It was causing her extreme pain, and she had to get it removed.
While Doja was undergoing the procedure, she also got liposuction done on her arms and stomach. She told fans that she was ‘healing really fast’ after the surgery, and added that she had no desire to use her vape pen while she was recovering.
She went 70 days without using her e-cigarette while she was recovering, and she’s now vowed to be nicotine-free for good.
In an Instagram Live session last week, Doja Cat responded to YouTube Lorry Hill’s video about her ‘body transformation’ by sharing a scathing response. She explained that the video was part of a series she runs on YouTube called ‘Welcome to My Channel,’ and that it’s “about this b*tch Lorry Hill talking about people’s bodies, talking about their surgeries.”
As her Twitter followers spotted that Doja Cat had recently shared videos of herself playing the Sims video games while she was in the hospital, some fans were confused about what exactly she was doing. In one video, she flashes a peace sign and shows off an IV needle in her hand. A fan asked Doja if she was about to go into surgery, and she replied, “did it already.”
The Grammy winner went on to share a second post that detailed her recovery from tonsil surgery. She wrote, ‘I had to have this done and it was a long recovery but i am ok and it feels so good to be home.’
Earlier this year, Doja had to pull out of the Billboard Music Awards after her tonsils developed a growth that required surgery. She said the ‘nasty growth’ was causing her “to much pain and distress”.
In the post, she revealed that she had gotten an abscess on her left tonsil in April, and that the doctor had to ‘cut into’ it and drain an abscess. She also said that he was’removing the abscess and getting rid of this nasty growth’ and that she was ‘healing really well.’
While she was in the hospital, Doja Cat said she had a hard time ‘getting through the lyrics’ to rap. Her voice was ‘horrible and rough,’ but she still managed to do it, and fans were clearly impressed.
She compared her recovery to Britney Spears’, who suffered from a mental health crisis after shaving her head and eyebrows in 2011. While Doja is a vocal advocate for women’s rights and promoting a healthy lifestyle, she isn’t afraid to take a stand against plastic surgery or the influence of “illuminati nonsense” on social media. She’s also known for her frequent live stream sessions on different platforms, which are often entertaining and funny.
